After immigrating to the United States from Russia, Frank Landsberg, opened Landsberg Jewelers, at 3rd & South Street, in 1901, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Frank’s son, Reuben Landsberg continued the family tradition, to its present location, at 8th & Sansom Streets, in the Jewelry Trade Center LP, located on Jewelers Row in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Which is the second largest jewelry district on the east coast of the United States).

Second Generation- Reuben Landsberg was a consummate professional, he always had a smile on his face, and consistently maintained a respected reputation. You can’t buy a good name.  “Old school” trained mechanic, with discipline, who by repeated performance, always looked for ways to improve. When, Reuben Landsberg married his wife, Rose Manin, her father, Samuel Manin was a skilled  “Master Jeweler”, and hand made every piece of his jewelry, from start to finish, making all the parts, which render the finished piece, to each client’s specifications. He, also had a brother in the jewelry business, Joseph Manin, also a “Master Jeweler”.

Jewelers on both sides of the family, with the union of Reuben Landsberg and Rose Manin. Reuben, served his country in World War II, and upon returning home, studied gemology and horology (Watch repair). He had a remarkable ability to calculate numbers in his head, and mastered this gift by buying and selling thousands of pieces of jewelry at numerous auctions, that he frequently attended. Reuben personally educated, provided assistance, and mentored many people who made their start in the jewelry industry, and “Took them under his wing”.

Third Generation- Gerald Landsberg joined the firm in 1978. And in 1980, Fredric Landsberg joined the business. Reuben educated and provided valuable experience to his two sons. The three of us, working side by side, culminated three generations of satisfied customers. Receiving the joy, of providing our clients a personalized experience and education, paying attention to every detail, while maintaining the highest ethics and standards, in the normal operation of our business.
